Biography

James is the Instructional Media Designer at the Center for Educational Innovation. He collaborates with faculty and staff to produce media that promotes engaged learning and effective teaching practices. He specializes in the creation of diverse online interactive modules, including short courses, training exercises, and engaging videos, as part of CEI's Instructional Media Production service. This service, focused on enhancing student learning outcomes, is centrally funded and accessible for a wide range of university initiatives as well as tailored to meet specific course requests.

James is actively involved in integrating artificial intelligence into the educational landscape, focusing on using AI to enhance media production and eLearning opportunities. Part of his work centers on the innovative use of AI tools to develop engaging media for interactive learning experiences suitable for the digital age.

He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2005 (Journalism and Mass Communications) and worked in Academic Technology since 2013, starting with Academic Technology Support Services. Before that, James spent 6 years creating video and motion graphics for web and TV broadcast.
